PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: "This is a tough time for a lot of people -- millions of folks ... . But America is tougher, and we’re tougher because we pull together. We leave nobody behind. We make sure that we respond as a nation and remind ourselves that whenever an American is in need, all of us stand together to make sure that we’re providing the help that's necessary." (realclearpolitics.com)
"... We leave nobody behind. ..."
When I heard the president speak those words, I immediately thought of the Sept. 11 attack on the Americans in Benghazi, Libya. But of course, the president made no such claim in the case of the terrorist attack in Benghazi where he/we/America DID leave behind four Americans by refusing to respond to their requests for help.
The American ambassador and three other Americans were killed after seven hours of fighting and terror. Their repeated pleas for aid were ignored by this White House and this administration.
Making matters worse is the fact that the administration made up stories about a video bringing outrage to radical Islamists. They described it, not as a terrorist attack, but a incident caused by simultaneous protests from the Muslim world over an American-made film that ridiculed Islam's Prophet Muhammad. Our president apologized to the Islamists and assured them that they had "nothing to do with this awful video."
Following the attack and the deaths of four Americans, instead of promising to go after the murderers, the president and his staff promised to arrest the producer of the video! Instead of being honest with the public (transparent, as they like to say), these lies were continued for at least 14 days with the president even addressing the United Nations and referring to the video no less than six times.
So, when the president said that no one is left behind, he was speaking about those on the East Coast affected by Hurricane Sandy. His remarks were made to the Red Cross volunteers in Washington, DC.
To heck with Americans serving this country who might be in harms way. They are not going to get him votes. |
