Ron’s Auto Sales celebrates 30 years in business
Ron Wiatrek invites all his friends and customers to come enjoy the day with Ron’s Auto Sales on Saturday, Nov. 10, beginning with a lunch at noon. Ron’s Auto Sales will be celebrating 30 years in business and the retirement of two of its employees — Larry and Vera Neyland.
Ron’s Auto Sales, located at 101 S.H. 123 S. in Stockdale, is celebrating its 30th year in business offering customers pre-owned vehicles. To commemorate this anniversary, the business will host a celebration of not only the business achievement as the oldest and largest used car dealership in Wilson County, but to honor two dedicated employees Saturday, Nov. 10, beginning at noon.
Owner Ron Wiatrek said he is dedicating this occasion to celebrate the years Larry and Vera Neyland have given to the success of Ron’s Auto Sales since 1990. Larry, who does the vehicle titles, will be retiring. His wife, Vera, will reduce her hours as secretary to a part-time position.
Appropriately, Wiatrek plans a “fall hunting theme” for the special occasion with food, drinks, and giveaways every 30 minutes starting at noon. This will culminate with a grand prize drawing at 5 p.m. for a men’s Remington 270 deer rifle with scope and a women’s assorted gift package including a day at the spa. City and county dignitaries will be on hand to congratulate those involved with the business.
Wiatrek, a graduate of Stockdale High School, began his journey in the automotive business after being injured in an accident while returning home from his construction job. During his recovery, he worked at his father’s service station, running the cash register, answering the phone, and visiting with customers.
Ron started a used-car business adjacent to his father’s service station during the Stockdale Watermelon Jubilee in 1982. Since then, Ron’s Auto Sales has expanded to four lots. Wiatrek is honored to have been chosen as the “Best of the Best Used Car Dealer” by the Floresville Chronicle-Journal for two consecutive years.
Ron’s Auto Sales, with its motto of “Come see why people drive and save top money with us!” offers financing to its customers, as well as extended warranties or unlimited miles.
