Ernest Melton Roberts, 79, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, in his home in Victoria. He was born Nov. 25, 1932, in Waco, Texas, to Francis Marion and Cora (Strickland) Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gerald Roberts.

Ernest is survived by his children, Ernest M. Roberts Jr., Bonnie Arbuckle, Carl Roberts, Gary Roberts, and Susan Little and husband Joseph; sisters Lilian Rathman and Mary Lu Copeland; brother Sidney Roberts; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and many friends.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. in the Eagle Springs Baptist Church in McGregor.

A private burial will be held at a later date in the Bundick Cemetery near Smiley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
