Melissa Jaskinia and Steven Wiatrek were united in marriage on Saturday, June 9, 2012, in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, Texas. Father Gregory Szewczyk and Deacon Alan Crosby officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Allan and Linda Jaskinia of Poth and the grand-daughter of Gladys Maha of Poth and the late Clarence Maha, and Agnes E. Jaskinia of Cestohowa and the late Frank Jaskinia Sr.

The groom is the son of Joe and Trisha Wiatrek of Kosciusko and the grandson of the late Steve and Helen Pruske, formerly of Kosciusko, and the late Thomas and Elizabeth Wiatrek, formerly of Cestohowa.

The bride wore a strapless ivory Vera Wang gown made with layers of tulle and tissue organza adorned with hand-sewn organza flowers and a blush pink sash. The bodice was made of delicate sea bead embroidery with hand-punched cotton voile flowers. The bride’s chapel-length ivory tulle veil was custom-made in New York. Her bouquet of fuchsia, light pink, and ivory-colored fresh roses was wrapped in a Swarovski crystal holder and accented with a Cinderella carriage charm.

Jennifer Wiatrek, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Madison Slaughter, Lauren Slaughter, Bethannie Dryzmala, Samantha Wiatrek, Leslie Wiatrek, Abby Wiatrek, Monica Cavazos, and Rebecca Cavazos. The junior bridesmaid was Jillian Slaughter.

Flower girls were Sadie Wiatrek, niece of the bride, Allyson Wiatrek, and Kenley Wiatrek.

The bridesmaids wore black strapless taffeta full- length dresses designed by Watters. The flower girls wore blush pink tulle ballerina dresses and halos made of baby’s breath and miniature pink roses.

Chase Wiatrek, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Bryan Wiatrek, Luke Wiatrek, Chance Dziuk, Derrick Felux, Clayton Wiatrek, Kevin Pruski, Joey Wiatrek, and Joshua Roy.

The ring bearer was Logan Pawelek. Ushers for the occasion were Blake Brown, Rikk Henefield, Lance Vradenburg, and D.J. Wiatrek.

The “Monte Vista Strings Trio” performed the ceremony music, which included several Disney fairytale-themed songs. Following the ceremony, an enchanted evening continued with a reception, dinner, and dance at the Kosciusko Community Hall. As the couple left for the evening, a fireworks display lit the sky.

The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas and currently reside in Falls City, Texas.

Both the bride and groom are 2006 graduates of Poth High School. The bride is a 2010 graduate of the University of the Incarnate Word and is employed at Sisters Boutique in Floresville. The groom is a 2010 graduate of Texas A&M University-San Antonio and is employed at Catholic Life Insurance in San Antonio.
