Hay prices generally steady. Trade and demand continues light to moderate as many buyers of hay not wanting to accumulate large inventories at present. Several dairies and feedlots are opting to change rations with other roughages in face of high hay costs. Parts of the state received rain and pasture condition and winter forages continue to improve. Some late bailing of hay continues in areas that received late rains. Some hay producers in parts of East, Northeast, Southeast, and South Texas have ample to a surplus of hay still on hand. Supplemental feeding continues but minimal. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.  . . .
