FLORESVILLE -- “Someone was watching over me,” said Aileen Jendrusch, manager of the Wells Fargo branch on U.S. 181 in Floresville, after a pickup truck slammed through the window of her office just after noon today.

Patrolman Eric Hutchinson identified the driver of the Ford F-250 pickup truck as 93-year-old Harold Christensen of Floresville. Hutchinson said Christensen claimed the truck “jumped out of gear,” but the officer suspects that the driver mistook the accelerator for the brake pedal. Christensen had been involved in a similar incident at a nearby Sonic restaurant earlier this year.

No one was injured. Once officers were through with their investigation, Christen-sen left the scene with a family member. Hutchinson said that while the driver was not charged, a report will be filed with the state’s Medical Advisory Board, which could result in Christensen’s license being suspended.
