Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Bernice Flieller Bludau, a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, entered eternal rest Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at 5:16 a.m. in the Floresville Nursing Center in Floresville at the age of 81 years, 8 months, and 24 days. Bernice was born Feb. 16, 1931, in Floresville, the daughter of Leona O. Rotter and Jerome B. Flieller Sr.

After graduation from high school, Bernice worked as a secretary for many years at the Texas Department of Highways. Bernice married Clarence Otto Bludau on July 21, 1951, in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth. Clarence preceded Bernice in death on Feb. 1, 2000. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a 59-year member of the Poth Catholic Daughters, and a member of the Grand Lodge of the Sons of Hermann.

Bernice is survived by her daughters, Debra L. Braddock and husband Keith of San Antonio, Pamela K. Burkett and husband Homer of Floresville, and Clarice A. Dumont and husband Brad of Eagle Lake; her grandchildren, Mark Braddock, Candi, Brandi, and Hunter Burkett, and Morgan, Mallory, and Myles Dumont; her siblings, Jerome Flieller Jr. and wife Albina of Floresville, Milton Flieller and wife Carol of Madison, Wis., and Gladys Knott and husband John of Refugio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, officiated by the Rev. Phillip Henning.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Mark Braddock, Hunter Burkett, Myles Dumont, Ed Flieller, John Knott Jr., and Ronnie Williams.
