Barbara Ann Bartus Lance passed away in her home in Houston, Texas, on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the age of 64. She was born on June 19, 1948.

After graduating from Floresville High School in 1965, she continued her education at Texas Tech University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. She began her career of more than 25 years with the Texas Department of Human Services in Floresville and later transferred to Houston. She met and married Enrique Amador Lance, with whom she had her two children, Sandra Francisca Lance and Enrique Carlos Lance III.

Barbara’s children were of most importance and her life was focused on their upbringing. She was fortunate to see her daughter marry Nigel Weston and they together had Lily Elizabeth Weston, Barbara’s only granddaughter and the light of her life. Barbara loved gardening, working on her home, history, and travel. She took many family vacations, always with her children by her side. Barbara will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was truly an amazing and beautiful woman, said her family.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sandra Weston and husband Nigel; her son, Enrique Lance; her granddaughter, Lily Weston; and her sister, Janet Nix of San Antonio.
