Residents from Virginia to Massachusetts are being affected by what they call “Superstorm Sandy.” The winds of this storm not only affected the coastal states such as Delaware, New Jersey, and New York, they also stretched from North Carolina all the way up to Maine. According to CNN forecasters, an “extremely dangerous storm surge” hit around the same time as high tide, with the highest storm surge along the coasts of New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. The immediate impact of this consisted of coastal flooding and beach erosion.  . . .
