STOCKDALE -- Deputies from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an apparent homicide, after hog hunters found a body Nov. 13 in a remote area of the Quail Run Golf Club near S.H. 123 north of here.

Sheriff Joe D. Tackitt Jr. identified the victim as 23-year-old Dakota Reynolds of San Antonio. Tackitt said the man had been shot twice in the head. Indications are that his body was dumped just before 1:15 p.m.

Tackitt said 18-year-old Kyle McKay of San Antonio will be charged today with Reynolds’ murder. McKay, who deputies arrested Nov. 14 in Stockdale, is being held in the Wilson County Jail on drug charges and also could be charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. This is because witnesses reported that McKay had been driving Reynolds’ 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier in the moments after the shooting occurred.
