Stockdale News: Holiday Brahma Happenings, more
Greetings from Stockdale Independent School District.
Stockdale High School held “A Passport For Learning” Nov. 5, where students and their parents visited all the classes on the students’ schedules. Passports marking each destination were stamped. The response was great. Read the full account in Junior Journalist Clayton Lynn’s article, page 2E.
The Stockdale Junior High School will hold a “Math Night” Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the school library. Come and join the Stockdale Junior High Math Department as they explore mathematics beyond the classroom. Door prizes will be distributed and snacks will be served.
The Stockdale Elementary School held its annual Thanksgiving Feast Nov. 20. Parents, grandparents, and other loved ones sure do enjoy coming to eat lunch with their children. We do enjoy seeing the kids have a meal with their families.
Winter Wonderland Carnival
The Winter Wonderland Carnival is set for Friday, Dec. 14, from 5-8 p.m. on the elementary blacktop. Some of our booths are glow-in-the-dark bowling, snowball toss, ice fishing, and playing in snow. We will also have a silent auction as well as a live auction. Come out and see your students sing Christmas carols and have a great time.
Thank you to the 37 out of 124 staff members (about 30 percent) that participated in the Fall 2012 Healthy U Safe U Wellness Campaign.
Here’s how the campus participation ended ... which included the food service staff!
•High school campus --11.68 percent
•Junior high school campus -- 25.69 percent
•Administration -- 28.5 percent.
And the winner is the elementary school campus with 51.61 percent.
The elementary school campus will receive a banner to proudly display at their campus. The prize for those that participated will be distributed as soon as it is received.
Let’s all have a very Happy Thanksgiving and look forward to a Merry Christmas!
