So someone has talked to an oil company and they are willing to donate to fix the Little League fields? Why was this NEVER brought up? We could have solved this problem a long time ago. And, there is a contract with Little League and the City, and all they have to do is get together and discuss the logistics? WHY ON EARTH HAVE WE NOT DONE THIS????? We have placed the children in harm's way just so we can fight over a 2.1 million dollar sports complex???? REALLY, PEOPLE???? If there was a solution, why was this NEVER brought up? Who knew this information and never made it public???? It was never about denying the children, it was about the "elegance" of it all! A 2.1 million dollar sports complex just so it could have someone's name on it??? Shame on you EX Mayor Tejada!

Truth so what you are saying is fixing these parks should be a higher priority then the infastructure, waste water plant and fixing the roads in the town? Im sure these parks need lots of work due to the neglect of the folks you supported for the last 3-4 years, like your compadre Danny, Gomez and Castillo. Did we not have a parks and recreation director? These parks didnt get like that overnight, it was the neglect of the Mayor and his Parks and Recreation Director who by the way resigned. You see when you run a business or an operation, you have to plan things, set priorities and figure out how you can find solutions to problem you might not be able to address imideatly. This is called planning. If the fields are in so bad shape, why not see if they can use the high school field or the lot Close to hickory circle that they use for Tball. If the fields arent safe and the association and coaches decide to use them and a child gets hurt, then I would blame it on the association for not taking care of the fields as well. There is a snack bar there that sales refreshments and food, where has all that money gone in the last 3-10 years? Im sure they would have made enough money to keep the fields repaired or made improvements. Quit trying to start crap about the new council, they are new and I know they will do a much better job then all your compadres and primos did. At least you can give them a chance. Ya the elections are over, let it go man.

The actual problem is the ex mayor never had a "plan" he just wanted money to throw around out there. That was the big problem not to mention parks should not be a priority over essential needs like water and sewer infrastructure. Sports are not important they are games, a plentiful supply of safe drinking water and a environmentally safe and adequate size sewer system are essential to all current residents and businesses as well as future growth. Why don't these complainers who are county residents take the parks issue up with their commissioners and have the county build them parks and quit whining about the FLORESVILLE city park. The city has no fiduciary duty to provide for county residents and county residents should be charged an extra fee to use our fields because they are not paying city property taxes if they don't like it they can leave.

Unfortunately, taxpayers are going to have to pay for the years and years of neglect to the city park. Instead of maintaining it for the last 10 or 20 years, it was left to fall apart just like the little kiddie park by the swimming pool. The city totally neglected it so that the Lions Club had to pay to have it refurbished. Just hope it is maintained THIS time! That was no reason to have allowed this level of neglect in the first place. Now we have to pay ...

There are holes that 100 pound kids can fall into on our baseball fields,do you want facts go out there and see for yourself! Watchdog; that is what we want, more people to get involved. There is a council meeting scheduled for Thursday, hope to see lots of people there. The citizens will no longer be told to shut up and sit down and be called liars. Those days are gone. It is a new time for the city, let's make it work. Remember, the city has been returned to the voters.

Natural Light, if you do not like what is being said then stay out of it. Everyone else seems to be ok with it. Or are you one of the sore losers? As for you, The Truth,once again you do not have your facts straight. Mr. Miller was not entirely against fixing the parks. Remember, it was former mayor Tejada that wanted the "Sports Complex" ahead of fixing the city infrastructure. Many people, including the city knew about the erosion, it was mentioned several times in council meetings. Quit your name calling or just stay out of it. Mr. Miller is not a "puppet master", that was your friend Danny Tejada. So once again, get your facts straight. And this is not about power, this is about representing the citizens and moving the city forward. Maybe you should also stay out of facebook and reading Gomez and Tejada's lies.
