A rabbit clinic was held in La Vernia on Nov. 4 in the La Vernia Chamber of Commerce. Approximately 30 youth and adults attending viewed demonstrations and received informational handouts.

Basic information on raising rabbits, equipment, and care was covered by Judy Janey of S & J Rabbitry in La Vernia. Judy is an award-winning breeder and ARBA judge. Steve Swygard, the La Vernia Chamber of Commerce Rabbit Show chairman, also spoke to the group.

Both first-timers and current rabbit project participants from throughout Wilson County are encouraged to come and share information at the next clinic on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, in the La Vernia Chamber from 2-4 p.m. Topics to be covered will include showmanship and handling.

Claire Weber is the 4-H County Council Information Officer for Wilson County.
