The Floresville High School Air Force Junior ROTC Sabertooth Tiger Corps unit has received the Distinguished Unit Award (DUA) “with Merit” for the 2011-12 school year. Of the 884 Air Force Junior ROTC units worldwide, only the top 10 percent were selected for this award.

This is the third consecutive year the Floresville unit has received this prestigious award. The award came with a letter of congratulations from the director of the Air Force Junior ROTC, a certificate, and a blue and white streamer for the school flag.

The unit has 107 cadets and is in its 12th year at the high school.
