First Lutheran Church in Floresville is seeking a Director of Youth and Family Ministry, part-time 20 hours/week. Qualifications: Have active worship life and ongoing growth in faith, understanding of Lutheran-Christian tradition, ability to work with both adults and youth, basic computer and organizational skills. Director will disciple both parents and youth grades 1-12, establish appropriate caring relationships with youth, seek opportunities to connect with youth in their environment on their schedule, organize parents into groups for children's ministry work, arrange at least 3 annual local events or trips for Sr. high youth, recruit and encourage youth and adults to take positions of shared leadership and involvement, create and implement means for regular communication with parents and youth, manage youth and family ministry calendar in collaboration with staff, parents, and youth. Henry P. Jarzombek went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. He was born on June 22, 1931, at home in Kosciusko, Texas, to Konstant and Anastazia Jarzombek.

Henry married the love of his life, Dorothy Louise Skloss, on April 24, 1960, in St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in Martinez. He worked at Southern Steel for 43 years, as well as farming and ranching.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Isodore Jarzombek; and sisters Mary Pawelek, Celie Reid, Theresa Morawietz, Emilia Wiatrek, and Elizabeth Wiatrek. Henry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Louise Skloss Jarzombek; his children, Karla Moczygemba and husband Michael of Panna Maria, Donna Pawelek and husband Preston of Pawelekville, Paul Jarzombek and wife Mandy of Schertz, Albina “Cami” Swierc and husband Richard of Hobson, Valerie McInvale and husband Charlie of Poth, and Bryan Jarzombek and wife Stacy of Floresville; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brothers, Clement Jarzombek and wife Lynette of Kosciusko, Fabian Jarzombek Sr. and wife Carol of Kosciusko, and Steve Jarzombek and wife Judy of Stockdale; and sister-in-law Alice Jarzombek.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. with a rosary recited at 8 p.m. in the St. Ann Catholic Church in Kosciusko.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the church co-officiated by the Rev. Dennis Jarzombek and Jan Szpilka.

Interment followed in the St. Ann Cemetery in Kosciusko.

Pallbearers were Henry’s sons, Paul Jarzombek and Bryan Jarzombek, and Henry’s sons-in-law, Michael Moczygemba, Preston Pawelek, Richard Swierc, and Charlie McInvale.
