Phyllis Roemer Zook
Phyllis Roemer Zook, a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, entered eternal rest Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at 11:58 a.m. in the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 71 years, 7 months, and 15 days. Phyllis was born to Phillip Murray and Alice Pundt Roemer on April 5, 1941, in Wilson County.
After graduation from Floresville High School in 1958, Phyllis worked at USAA for 32 years. Phyllis married Robert Zook on Aug. 9, 1958, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville. Phyllis had many hobbies, but being an excellent seamstress was her favorite.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Manka; and her brother, Wayne Roemer.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of more than 54 years, Robert Zook of Floresville; her beloved daughter, Debbie Garcia of San Antonio; her brother, Dwight Roemer and wife Sandra of Floresville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, Nov. 25, at 11 a.m. with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, officiated by the Rev. John Adams.
Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery in Wilson County.
Serving as pallbearers were George Piskor, John Piskor, Todd Roemer, Braxton Roemer, Keith Roemer, and Bryan Thurton.
