AUSTIN -- Here is the fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (full report is available at www.tpwd.state.tx.us)
BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and dark soft plastic worms. Striped bass are good on green striper jigs and shad. Redfish are good on crawfish, shad, and shrimp. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp, cut bait, and cheesebait near the dam. Blue catfish are fair on cut bait.
CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are good on blue soft plastic worms with gold flakes. Striped bass are fair on white striper jigs. Redfish are fair on live bait. Channel and blue catfish are good on cheesebait and shad in 181 Cove. Yellow catfish are slow.
CANYON LAKE Water lightly stained; 71--75 degrees; 8.16’ low. Black bass are fair to good on watermelon red Whacky Sticks, white spinnerbaits, and Rat--L--Traps along creeks in 8--20 feet. Striped bass are fair on deep running crankbaits and blade baits around humps in the lower end of the lake. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are good on white JDC curl tail grubs on jigheads and watermelon Curb’s jigs along ledges and over rock piles in 8--18 feet early. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs upriver. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on juglines baited with live perch.
CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 73--77 degrees; 16.15’ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastics, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits early and late. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows and pink tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are fair on frozen shrimp, hot dogs, and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch.
COLETO CREEK Water clear; 3.87’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon crankbaits and Rat--L--Traps. Striped bass are fair on white striper jigs. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch.
CORPUS CHRISTI Bull redfish are good in the surf on mullet and shrimp. Redfish are good in the holes on live bait. Trout are fair to good around spoils for waders working mud on small topwaters.
PORT ARANSAS Trout are fair to good on reefs on live shrimp and mullet. Bull redfish are good at the jetty and on the beachfront on natural baits.

ROCKPORT Redfish are good on the edge of the flats on live shrimp under a popping cork. Trout are fair to good on live shrimp on reefs in St. Charles Bay and Aransas Bay.
SOUTH PADRE Trout are good on soft plastics under corks on the edge of the channel. Redfish are good in Airport Cove and on the Gas Well Flats on DOA Shrimp and Gulps.
