Representing Area 7 FFA in state competition later this week will be nine East Central students who placed first or second in area competition Nov. 12 in Blanco.

Kylie Patterson placed first and will advance to state competition in Junior Creed Speaking.

Patterson also will compete with teammates Johnna Pieniazek, Anjelita Castillo, Yusif Gurrola, Julie Kosub, Madison Lange, Hannah Plate, Randee Terrill, and Chloe Villapondo in the Junior Chapter Conducting contest. The team placed second overall in area competition.

State competition will be held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, at Sam Houston State University.
