Help Wanted

Very part-time help needed to feed cats, chickens, and horses, Monday-Friday, 2 times per day, morning after dawn but before 9 a.m. for approx. 30-45 minutes and p.m. before dark (summer about 6-8 p.m., winter 4-5 p.m.) for approx. 60-90 minutes. Suitable for someone who lives near location, which is exactly halfway between New Berlin and La Vernia. No smoking and requires working in all weather conditions. The City of Poth is currently accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. The Chief is responsible for all operational and administrative aspects of the police department, provide patrol, criminal investigations, crime prevention, enforce all laws and ordinances and be responsible for public health and safety. Must be community oriented, have strong public relations skills, strong work ethics, must be physically fit and maintain a professional image while in uniform. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Must have a valid Class C or higher Texas Driver’s License. Must be TCLEOSE Master Peace Officer certified and have at least 5 years of experience with law enforcement agency; SWAT, Gang Unit, Narcotics or Detective experience a plus, pass a thorough background check investigation with drug screen and credit check. The City offers benefit package with retirement plan and medical insurance. Salary dependent on qualifications. EOE. 1961-2012

Nancy Lynn “Tiki” Kapp passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at the age of 51 years. She was born on Jan. 29, 1961, in Memphis, Tenn.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Ann McBride.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jason Kapp of San Antonio; mother-in-law Karen Kapp of Kerrville; sisters Nancy McMurtrey and husband Mike of Eden and Sissie West and husband Frankie of Devine; brothers John McBride and wife Patty of Spring Branch and Dan McBride and wife Melba of Houston; niece Stacie West-Gonzales and husband Wille and daughter Kayleigh; nephew Blake Dietzmann and wife Debbie and their children, Bailey and Ashton; several other nieces, nephews, and their families; cousins; loving friends; and her loving canine companions, Kozmo and Itty Bitty.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10-11 a.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale, Texas.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Mark Rylander officiating.

Interment followed in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Stockdale.

Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Defense League, 11300 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, TX 78217.
