ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Vicenta “Chenta” Vasquez Rodriguez, a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, entered eternal rest Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at 7:23 p.m. in the Connally Memorial Medical Center in Floresville at the age of 81 years, 7 months, and 21 days. Chenta was born April 1, 1931, in Floresville, the daughter of Hipolito and Valeria Camarillo Vasquez.

After graduation from Floresville High School, she married Pedro “Pete” Rodriguez on April 22, 1950, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville. Chenta was a loving homemaker and mother. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Pete Rodriguez; daughter Patrita Rodriguez; brothers Steve Vasquez, Joaquin Vasquez, and Frank Vasquez; and her sister, Natalia Herrera.

Chenta is survived by her beloved husband of more than 62 years, Pedro “Pete” Rodriguez; her children, Janie Rodriguez and husband Roland Lopez, Juan Jose Rodriguez and wife Angie, Jose Rodriguez and wife Ruby, Billy Rodriguez and wife Mary Frances, and Lupe Rodriguez; sisters Helen Pena and Frances Medina; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, Nov. 26, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, officiated by the Rev. Phillip Henning.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Jesse Rodriguez Jr., Eric James Rodriguez, Vince Edwards Rodriguez, Pedro Rodriguez, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Louis Arevolos, and Pete Rodriguez III.
