ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Harris ‘Extreme Makeover’ set for Dec. 10

FLORESVILLE -- Area residents can watch with the nation local Wounded Warrior Shilo Harris and his family receive their custom home from Ty Pennington and the team of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” on Monday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. on KSAT, channel 12.

This is a change in the date for this two-hour special episode of the popular ABC-TV program, originally scheduled for Dec. 17.

More than 3,000 people volunteered for the project in January. Bob McCullough with Morgan’s Wonderland, the first nonprofit to coordinate a project for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, confirmed the changed program date Dec. 6.

A reunion and watch-party for the program is scheduled for Dec. 10, at the Kicaster Country Store near La Vernia. Everyone who worked on the project is welcome to attend. Kicaster Country Store is located at 2239 F.M. 3432 in Adkins. Call 830-947-3731 for more information.
