Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. 1971-2012

Blaine Trevino Sr. passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 40 years, 3 months, and 29 days. He was born Aug. 8, 1971, in Floresville, the son of Lucas and Anna Lee Trevino. He was a lifelong resident of Floresville.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Louis and Maria O. Martinez; and his cousins, Rey Anthony Perez and Sean Janson.

Blaine is survived by his parents, Lucas and Anna Lee Trevino of Floresville; his grandmother, Celia Silva of Floresville; his children, Alexis Trevino of Floresville, Blaine Trevino Jr. of Saspamco, and Cory Trevino of San Antonio; his sister, Yesania Trevino of Berclair; his brothers, Mario Trevino and Vincente Trevino, both of Floresville; his grandchildren, Isabella Trevino and Brandon Burk; and a niece, Aissia Guerra.

Visitation was held Monday, Dec. 10, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Phil Henning officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Larry Castillo, Chris Quintanilla, Mike Barrera, Ruben Ortiz, Reggie Perez, Anthony Marroquin, Gilbert Flores, and Albert Palacios.
