Lost: Border Collie, black and light brown, 9 months old, wearing a green collar, last seen Sept. 22 near CR 427 in Poth. If found call 210-324-1208.

Offer condolences


Pella Rose Niemietz-Zunker entered into rest on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at the age of 87. She was born on Aug. 28, 1925, in Yorktown, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sixtus Dan Niemietz and Elwood Zunker; and great-grandchild Ryan Anthony Montanio.

Pella is survived by her children, Patricia Montanio and husband Anthony, Robert Niemietz and wife Dixie, Joyce Mainz and husband Robert, and Hazel Taylor; grandchildren Mark and Amber Montanio, Clayton Niemietz, Amanda Westervelt, and Corey and Casey Mainz; brothers Vincent Respondek and wife Erna and Ray Respondek and wife Lucy; and sister Ruth Traylor.

At Pella’s request, her body was donated to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for further research of merkel cell cancer.

A rosary was held Friday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. in the St. Benedict Church in San Antonio.

A funeral Mass was held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the church.
