Tigers pounce on Bulldogs

FLORESVILLE -- After coming off a close loss to Brackenridge, the Floresville Tiger varsity basketball team was focused and ready to play on its home court last Tuesday against the Burbank Bulldogs.

From the opening tipoff, it was all Tigers. Floresville shot the ball well on the night, and hit 52 percent of its shots from the field. Offensively, the Tigers were led by Estevan Mendiola, who celebrated his birthday by contributing 15 points to the Tiger cause. Charlie Albert and Jaron Medina added 13 and 12 points, respectively, and the duo led the team in assists with four each. The Bulldogs also felt the presence of Mason Ray, as he led the Tigers on the boards with six rebounds.

Overall, it was a great team effort by the Tigers, as they ran away with a win over Burbank, 68-48.
