East Central FFA team named state semifinalist

East Central FFA team named state semifinalist
East Central Greenhand Chapter Conducting team of (from left) Hannah Plate, Chloe Villapondo, Kylie Patterson, Madison Lange, Julie Kosub, Johnna Pieniazek, Anjelita Castillo, Yusif Gurrola, and Randee Terrill proudly display the awards earned during state leadership competition Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 in Huntsville. The team earned a semi-finalist plaque, while Kylie earned a fourth-place state banner for East Central FFA.

Nine freshmen students of the East Central FFA competed in the state FFA Leadership Contest Nov. 30 at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.

The Greenhand Chapter Conducting team of Anjelita Castillo, Yusif Gurrola, Julie Kosub, Madison Lange, Kylie Patterson, Johnna Pieniazek, Hannah Plate, Randee Terrill, and Chloe Villapondo was named a state semifinalist.

With 93,000 FFA members and 251 teams entered in this event, East Central is proud that this team was named as a state semifinalist and among the top 20 in our state. To advance to state, the team placed second at district and area competitions.

In the Greenhand Creed Speaking contest, Kylie Patterson competed in the finals Dec. 1, finishing in fourth place. The area champion competed against 645 students.
