4-H Rifle Team of Wilson County receives grant

The 4-H Rifle Team of Wilson County would like to send out a big thank you to The National Rifle Association (NRA) Foundation for the grant that was awarded to the group. The grant awarded to the 4-H Rifle Team totaled $14,835.85 to be used toward new supplies. The team was able to purchase a trailer to help haul all the needed equipment to rifle meets in the South Texas area.
The team would also like to thank D&D Farm & Ranch in Seguin for helping them get a great deal on their new trailer, and Walter and Shirley Zaiontz for donating the spare tire. The kids are very proud of their new equipment and are always willing to help take care of it.
The kids, coaches, and parents would also like to thank those community members who attend and support the local annual Karnes County Area Friends of the NRA Dinner held at the Falls City Community Hall, which includes Karnes, Wilson, Bee, and other surrounding counties. Those funds raised at the dinner help support the grants like the one our kids received.
The next dinner is scheduled for April 12, 2013, so mark your calendars. The 4-H Rifle kids will help during the auction as they have for the past two years. Also, for those registered for the upcoming rifle season, don’t forget the first safety meeting is Tuesday, Jan. 8. Looking forward to another great season!
