Guadalupe ‘Lupe’ Vargas
Guadalupe “Lupe” Vargas, beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, in the Bluebonnet Nursing Home in Karnes City, Texas. She was born on June 12, 1956, to Wenceslao and Maria Vargas in San Antonio.
Lupe was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Elmendorf and was a Guadalupana at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Michigan.
She is survived by her parents; siblings Moises, Martin and wife Barbara, Louie, Rosario, Vincent, Lucia, Teresa, Adrian and wife Juanita, Victoria and husband Joseph, and Virginia and husband Martin; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 19, from 4-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Palm Heights Mortuary in San Antonio.
A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Elmendorf officiated by the Rev. Andrew Kafara.
Interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery in San Antonio.
