ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Herminia “Minnie” Lopez, a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, entered eternal rest Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at 1:25 p.m. in the Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 71 years, 3 months, and 21 days. Minnie was born Aug. 17, 1941, in Floresville, the daughter of Simon P. and Avelina Trinidad Lopez.

After graduation from Floresville High School, class of 1960, Minnie worked as a caregiver for many years. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville. Minnie was a loving, caring, and friendly person who will be truly missed by her family, relatives, and friends.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Adelina Garcia.

She is survived by her sister, Delia Cardona and husband Andy of San Antonio; her brother, Raymond Lopez and wife Diane of Fentress; her brother-in-law, Fernando Garcia; her nephews, Andy Cardona Jr. of San Antonio and Daniel Cardona of San Antonio; her niece, Vanessa Maldonado and husband Jeremiah of San Antonio; her great-niece, Daniela Cardona of San Antonio; and her great-nephew, Liam Maldonado of San Antonio.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville officiated by the Rev. Phillip Henning.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Andy Cardona Jr., Daniel Cardona, Raymond Puente, Ernest Puente, George Rivera, and Elidoro Trinidad.
