Mildred Mary Krawietz Kotara, a longtime resident of Poth, Texas, entered eternal rest Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at 1:35 a.m. in the Floresville Nursing Center in Floresville at the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 1 day. Mildred was born Sept. 8, 1934, in Cestohowa, the only daughter of Anthony and Rufina Keller Krawietz.

After graduation from Poth High School, Mildred was a credit union manager for many years. Mildred married Ben A. Kotara Jr. on July 1, 1961, in the St. Ann Catholic Church in San Antonio. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Altar Society at Blessed Sacrament Church in Poth.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Wilfred Krawietz and Norbert Krawietz.

She is survived by her beloved husband of more than 51 years, Ben A. Kotara Jr. of Poth; her children, Karen Kotara of Dallas, John Kotara and wife Luda and Ray Kotara and wife Patricia, all of San Antonio; her brothers, Thadeaus “Ted” Krawietz of San Antonio and Alvin Krawietz and wife Sherry of Albuquerque, N.M.; and her grandchildren, Kendra Kotara, Kyle Kotara, and Katya Toroschina.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Poth.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth officiated by the Rev. Grzegorz Szewczyk.

Interment followed in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery in Poth.

Serving as pallbearers were Odell Meyer, John Kotara, Ray Kotara, Ted Krawietz, Alvin Krawietz, and Bruno Keller.
