ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. 1934-2012

Ernest Dragon of Panna Maria, Texas, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, in the Bluebonnet Nursing Home in Karnes City at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 8 days. Ernest was born on Feb. 8, 1934, in Panna Maria to Peter and Agnes Pollok Dragon.

He was an active member of the Panna Maria community and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Panna Maria. Ernest was a farmer, rancher, carpenter, mechanic, and welder. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. On Jan. 21, 1956, he married Barbara Dugi in Panna Maria.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; brother Frank Dragon; sister Emma Janysek; and brother-in-laws Joe Janysek and Isidore Jarzombek.

He is survived by his wife of more than 56 years, Barbara; children Margaret McMahon and husband John T., Peter Dragon and wife Debra, Mark Dragon and wife Jennifer, and Evelyn Starnes and husband Donald; grandsons Joshua Moczygemba, Sean McMahon, Brandon Dragon, Garrett Dragon, Jake Dragon, and Justin Dragon, Trevor Dragon, Trenton Dragon, and Steven Starnes; great-grandchildren Jackson Moczygemba and Lillian McMahon; sister Alice Jarzombek; sister-in-law Annie Dragon; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, Dec. 21, at 4 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Panna Maria with a rosary at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the church.

Interment followed in the Panna Maria Cemetery in Panna Maria.

Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons.
