ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

In observance of the New Year’s Day holiday, all Wilson County offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. The Wilson County Commissioners Court at its Dec. 27 meeting approved the Dec. 31 closure.

All county officials who were elected Nov. 6 will be sworn in at 10 a.m., Jan. 1, in the courtroom of the Wilson County Criminal Justice Center.

They wont be missed. If they took a month off leave without pay, we'd save a ton of bread and be none the worse off.

Senior Citizen I am a government employee and yes I can take leave without pay. So....please do not blog about thinks you have no knowledge of.

The Wilson County News offices will be closed so that employees can celebrate with their families. A reminder to our readers that the newspaper will be delayed one day because they cannot be mailed on Tuesday as they usually are.
