-- Headlines:
House Republicans reversed course Tuesday evening (Jan. 1) and charted a path toward a possible late-night vote on the bipartisan agreement struck in the Senate to avoid the worst effects of the "fiscal cliff." Read more at:

-- Between the Lines: Will Republicans never learn? Where are the conservatives when we need them? It's gonna be a rough 2013 at the rate this is going!
-- Headlines:
If your CAR IS OLDER THAN 2012 you need to AVOID THE NEW E15 GAS. The AAA is asking that E15 gas be put on hold while more studies are done because it is just starting to show up at gas stations. Most car companies will not honor the warranty on your car if you use this new gas.
-- Between the Lines:
Just what this ailing economy needs. More regulations, increased costs to consumers, and more uncertainty!
-- Headlines:
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, 65, is being treated in a New York hospital for a blood clot stemming from the concussion she sustained in a fall in her home in December. She cancelled trips to North Africa and the Middle East.
-- Between the Lines:
Is anyone asking the question if this will also get her out of having to testify about what she knew concerning the Benghazi attacks. While on a trip to Peru, she said that she took "full responsibility" for the events in Benghazi. As the nation’s top diplomat she was to go before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearings. In the meantime, she resigned her position and now developed health issues. We wish her well.
-- Headlines:
National Rifle Association gets “Protection of Second Amendment Gun Rights,” in the national healthcare bill. This is a provision restricting the ability of doctors to gather data about their patients’ gun use -- a significant challenge to American doctors treating firearms as a matter of public health. The language, promoted by the NRA in the final debate over health care, was discovered only in recent days.
-- Between the Lines:
Now, the shoe is on the other foot! See how it fits. See how Hobby Lobby feels about having to pay for an insurance plan that violates its religious convictions. |
