Opiela family plumbing business dedicated to fairness, integrity
Having worked for his family’s business from an early age, Frank Opiela always knew that he would follow in his dad’s footsteps. The San Antonio native received his State Journeyman Plumbing License in 1983 at the age of 22 and later acquired his State Master Plumbing License in 1987.
The mid-1980s brought tough economic times to the area, forcing his family’s business to shut down. It was during this time that Frank and his wife, Robbie, formed Opiela Plumbing Services Co. Starting out with an old van and a set of tools given to him by his father, Frank set out to find whatever work he could. It was from these humble beginnings in 1988 that Frank and Robbie later established Opiela Mechanical Inc. in 1994.
Over the past 25 years, the company has grown dramatically, currently employing more than 50 hard-working people. Frank considers everyone working for the company to be a member of the business family, not just an employee. Frank and Robbie strive to instill a company culture of fairness, honesty, and integrity.
The Opielas’ children, Kristine and Kurtis, as well as their nephew, Corey, have also grown up working for the company and continue to do so, helping to lead the company into the future.
In addition to these family members, the company has had many dedicated, loyal employees over the years.
Opiela Mechanical serves the entire commercial plumbing industry, including HVAC hydronic piping and welding, underground utilities, medical gas, and backflow prevention. They are currently expanding their service department to better serve their commercial and residential customers.
Opiela Mechanical Inc. is located at 12275 U.S. 181 S. on the far southeast side of San Antonio. They can be reached at 210-633-2431 or email Frank at email@example.com. The company’s website, OpielaPlumbing.com, is currently under construction.
