FLORESVILLE -- City Manager Andy Joslin has confirmed that Jesse Perez, executive director for the Floresville Economic Development Corp. (FEDC), has submitted his resignation, effective Jan. 15.

Joslin said Perez did not cite any specific reason, other than to say he felt it was time to move on.

“The city of Floresville is extremely appreciative of the work Jesse Perez did on behalf of the EDC,” Joslin said. “He will truly be missed.”

Perez has been employed with the FEDC since 2001.

Now that he's gone it's a good time to consider if the Executive Director positition is even necessary. He didn't even have a job description.

I believe that Mr Perez is a retired Air Force Colonel and should have been ready to retire completely. No only did you pay his salary by your city taxes you contributed to his retirement by paying income taxes. Jesse is... More ›

My goodness, he did not even give the new board a chance, LOL That says a lot. We figure he took the city for a million bucks. I guess he did not want anyone telling him what to do. Good riddance!!!!! On to a better tomorrow!!
