AUSTIN -- Two Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders were arrested this week. One offender was arrested in Houston and another, who was from Nacogdoches, was arrested in New Orleans. So far in 2013, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and other agencies have already arrested three Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders, and $10,000 in rewards will be paid for tips that resulted in arrests. The cash rewards are funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division.

Edward Dwin Jackson, 52, was arrested Thursday night by DPS Criminal Investigations Division agents, with assistance from the Houston Police Department. He was located at a residence after a tip was received. Jackson was wanted for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Parole Violation. His past crimes include an arrest by Houston police in 1986 for Indecency with a Child by Exposure involving two 13-year-old female victims. The anonymous tipster will receive a cash reward of $5,000 for providing information in the case. View his captured bulletin at: http://www.dps.texas.gov/Texas10MostWanted/SexOffenderDetails.aspx?id=173.

Jimmy Ray McMillan, 42, is now in custody after turning himself into authorities Wednesday in Louisiana. McMillan reportedly found himself without transportation or shelter after a dispute with another individual and contacted the New Orleans Police Department, identifying himself as a wanted sex offender from Texas. McMillan was wanted by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. His criminal history includes Sexual Assault of a 9-year-old girl. Since no tip was involved in the arrest, no reward will be paid. View his captured bulletin at: http://www.dps.texas.gov/Texas10MostWanted/SexOffenderDetails.aspx?id=164.

The following link, http://www.dps.texas.gov/Texas10MostWanted/video/tipsterVideo.htm, explains the steps on how to submit a tip regarding a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive or Sex Offender and/or how to receive a reward once the fugitive is captured.

Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in four different ways:
•Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
•Text the letters DPS--followed by your tip--to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
•Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
•Submit a Facebook tip at http://www.facebook.com/texas10mostwanted by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link (under the “About” section).

All calls, texts, e-mails and Facebook messages are anonymous.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives featured in the Texas 10 Most Wanted Program. To view the current lists--with photos--visit the DPS website at http://www.dps.texas.gov/texas10mostwanted/.

Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous.
