AUSTIN -- Two Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders were arrested this week. One offender was arrested in Houston and another, who was from Nacogdoches, was arrested in New Orleans. So far in 2013, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and other agencies have already arrested three Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders, and $10,000 in rewards will be paid for tips that resulted in arrests. The cash rewards are funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division.
Edward Dwin Jackson, 52, was arrested Thursday night by DPS Criminal Investigations Division agents, with assistance from the Houston Police Department. He was located at a residence after a tip was received. Jackson was wanted for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Parole Violation. His past crimes include an arrest by Houston police in 1986 for Indecency with a Child by Exposure involving two 13-year-old female victims. The anonymous tipster will receive a cash reward of $5,000 for providing information in the case. Jimmy Ray McMillan, 42, is now in custody after turning himself into authorities Wednesday in Louisiana. McMillan reportedly found himself without transportation or shelter after a dispute with another individual and contacted the New Orleans Police Department, identifying himself as a wanted sex offender from Texas. McMillan was wanted by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. His criminal history includes Sexual Assault of a 9-year-old girl. Since no tip was involved in the arrest, no reward will be paid. View his captured bulletin at: http://www.dps.texas.gov/Texas10MostWanted/SexOffenderDetails.aspx?id=164.
