Lucila S. Escobar, a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, passed away on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in Floresville at the age of 101 years, 11 months, and 6 days. Lucila was born on Jan. 31, 1911, in Floresville to Juan and Manuelita Sauceda Escobar.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Zaragoza Escobar on May 7, 2011; three brothers; and four sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Zaragoza Escobar and wife Amalia of San Antonio and Ricardo Escobar and wife Alicia of Floresville; 12 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Phil Henning officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.
