The Stockdale Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the entertainment lineup for the Stockdale Watermelon Jubilee, set for Friday and Saturday, June 14-15.
“Turnpike Troubadours” will open for Stoney LaRue on Friday. LaRue is a Texas country, red dirt performer and has been on the music scene since 2002. He has been associated with “Cross Canadian Ragweed,” “Jason Boland & the Stragglers,” the “Casey Donahew Band,” and the “Josh Abbott Band.”
Saturday night co-headliners are “Cody Canada & The Departed” and “Reckless Kelly.” Jason Eady will open for these bands.
Cody Canada was the lead singer of “Cross Canadian Ragweed” and in 2011, founded the group, “The Departed,” an alternative country/ Southern rock band. They released their first album in 2011, “This Is Indian Land.”
“Reckless Kelly’s” genres include alternative country, country rock, and Americana. Their albums include “Bulletproof” and “Somewhere in Time.”
All Jubilee and Rodeo court candidates will soon be selling pre-sale rodeo and concert tickets, as well as Chamber of Commerce memberships.
The chamber is looking for sponsors and volunteers for this year’s Jubilee. It’s going to be a great time and wonderful celebration of the heritage of the community. If you are interested in being a sponsor or a volunteer, contact any chamber director.
Be sure to visit the chamber’s website, http://www.stockdaletx.org/jubilee.htm, for more events set for the event.
The next regular meeting of the Stockdale Chamber of Commerce board of directors will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. in the offices of the Stockdale Economic Development Corp.
