Stockdale News: Meet Century 21, Commerce Bank Texas
by Sierra Garza
The Stockdale Chamber of Commerce has many members and businesses who support the chamber activities, most recently “Christmas in Stockdale” held in downtown Stockdale.
This month we are featuring Century 21/ Karen Garza located in La Vernia. Ms. Garza has been a Realtor for the past three and one-half years, and is enjoying the oil boom that is currently taking place. The need for housing has become a priority for many people and if the need arises, she would love for you to call her for your realty needs.
Ms. Garza is a supporter of the Stockdale Watermelon Jubilee, where she sponsored one of the Little Miss candidates this past year. She has had an impact on the Stockdale community by making the transition for affordable housing a more pleasant experience.
Another member which supports the chamber of commerce is Commerce Bank Texas, established in 1932. The bank was previously owned by the Bain family and sold to Commerce Bank Texas in September 2008. The bank is located at 112 West Fordtran in Stockdale.
The bank currently sponsors the school’s H.O.P.E. Day, senior Project Graduation, Senior Citizens Dinner, activities at the nursing home, and the Little League, to name a few.
The bank meets the credit needs of the community to make it a better place.
We appreciate both of these businesses.
Junior Journalists in Charlin Akin’s journalism class at Stockdale High School are highlighting members of the Stockdale Chamber of Commerce on this community page as a service to the chamber. The Junior Journalist program is part of the Wilson County News’ Newspapers In Education program.
