Join others in and around the county to gear up for the Relay For Life of Wilson County Luau For Life kick-off party on Thursday, Jan. 17, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Stockdale Church of Christ at 633 S.H. 123 North in Stockdale.

Everyone is welcome to attend the free event, which will include food, a guest speaker, and door prizes, as well as survivor, caregiver, sponsor, and team recognition. General information will be provided and interested participants and teams can register for the 2013 Relay For Life to be held on Saturday, May 4, in the Floresville High School stadium, where the theme will be Luau For Life.

This fun-filled, overnight event mobilizes communities throughout the country to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones, and raise money for the fight against cancer. Teams gather with tents and sleeping bags to participate in the largest fund-raising walk in the nation. Teams seek sponsorship or donations prior to the relay, all with the goal of finding a cure for cancer.

Volunteers are needed to organize and recruit teams, seek community support, find refreshments and prizes, and plan entertainment.

For more, or to volunteer, call Lori at 940-867-7390.
