Mutton bustin’ set for Jan. 20
A mutton buster shows his riding technique while officials look on.
The Cowboy Fellowship Mutton Bustin’, sponsored by the Cowboy Fellowship Children’s Ministries of Atascosa County, will be held Sunday, Jan. 20, at the covered facility at Cowboy Fellowship in Jourdanton. Books open from 9:45-10:45 a.m. and busters much attend the church service to participate.
Mutton bustin’ is the pint-size equivalent to bull riding in the sport of rodeo. Whether the ride is 2 seconds or 20 seconds, the children can do a victory dance and leave the arena to the sound of the crowd’s applause.
Space is limited and registration is required by visiting events.cowboyfellowshipkids.org.
Children ages 3 years and up (80 pound weight limit) may enter for $35 for one ride and $5 for each additional ride.
Every child will receive a prize for competing in the event. A special prize will be given for children who perform the best celebration dances.
