CUERO -- The 28th annual All Breeds Bull and Female Sale will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, at 11:00 a.m. in the Cuero Livestock Commission, located at 1817 Bridge Road in Cuero.

The sale, sponsored by the DeWitt County Purebred Breeders Association and the DeWitt County Beef and Forage Committee, has drawn approximately 25 bulls and 250 females.

Breeds of bulls to be offered include Angus, Charolais, Brangus, Hereford, SimAngus, and Polled Hereford.

The female sale will feature bred, pairs, and open heifers of F-1 Braford (many Tiger Stripes), Brangus, Brahman, Black Baldy, Brangus Baldy, Beefmaster type, Simbrah type, and other crossbreds. Many of these heifers are 4-H/FFA commercial heifer prospects.

Bulls will sell first, followed immediately by the females. The bulls will be between 16 months and 26 months of age. All bulls will be brucellosis tested and have a complete Breeding Soundness Examination (BSE) conducted by a licensed veterinarian, within 30 days prior to the sale. Bulls will also meet all trichomoniasis requirements as prescribed by the Texas Animal Health Commission.

Females will be between 8 months and 32 months of age. All females will be brucellosis tested and palpated within 30 days prior to the sale.

Health papers on all cattle will be given to the buyers.

For more information, call Anthony Netardus, DeWitt County AgriLife Extension Service agent, at 361-275-0816.
