1923-2013

Jodie W. West Sr. passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 89 years, 6 months, and 28 days. Jodie was born June 16, 1923, in Stockdale to John Martin and Della Mae West. He was a former resident of San Antonio and a Floresville resident for 24 years. He was a member of the Masons AF&AM.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jamie Willett West; and daughters Janie George and Ella Mae West.

Jodie is survived by his children, Jolene Keene and husband Marvin of Medina, Jodie West Jr. and wife Marty of Floresville, and Jason West of Michigan; his sister, Nella Mae Broadway of Kirby; his brother, Martin W. West of Fairfield; his grandchildren, James West, Jacob West, Jodie West III, Laurie Bennett, Carolyn Herbst, Laura Hops, Leslie Slaughter, Lisa Patton, Justin West, and Tyler West; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 17, at 4 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

A funeral service was held Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Gordon Lindley officiating.

Interment followed in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pandora.
