One Book One Community program to start at library

The Friends of the Wilson County Public Library will sponsor the first-ever “One Book One Community” event, where everyone in Wilson County reads and discusses the same book. The kick-off event will be on Saturday, Feb. 23, with a meet and greet the author from 1-3 p.m. in Studio C at 246 Paloma Drive in Floresville.

The book selected for this event is The Gates of the Alamo by Stephen Harrigan.

Pre-sale tickets are $7, available for purchase in the Sam Fore Jr. Wilson County Public Library at 1 Library Lane in Floresville. Tickets will be $10 at the door.

Additionally, the Friends of the Wilson County Library will hold an online silent auction for a Bowie-style knife, with a starting bid of $250. Bids can be submitted by visiting wilsoncountylibrary.org. The Bowie-style knife online auction closes Thursday, March 21.
