After receiving second place at the Regional competition held in San Antonio in December, the La Vernia High School 2012-13 Competition Squad advanced on to the NCA Cheerleading Nationals Competition, held in Dallas Jan. 12-13. The 11-girl team came home with seventh place out of the 26 teams competing.

Being ranked No. 7 in the nation is an amazing accomplishment, especially for a team that has not competed on a national level in six years. Hats off to Katie Scull, head cheerleading coach, for all of her hard work and dedication to the sport and the girls.

The team is overjoyed with its accomplishment and very excited to be the foundation for a very successful program in the years to come. La Vernia High School, as well as the La Vernia Independent School District, is very proud of Coach Scull and her squad, and would like to congratulate them for their achievement.
