L.D. Greenhaw of Wilson County passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 86 years, 3 months, and 17 days. He was born Oct. 9, 1926, in Kemp, the son of George Oscar and Ruby Robertson Greenhaw. He was a former resident of Houston and a resident of the Floresville area for 2-1/2 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers and sisters, Dink, Buck, Jackie, Archie, Bernice, Anna Faye, Johnnie Bell, and Leo.

L.D. is survived by his wife, Carrie Lucille Long Greenhaw of the Floresville area; his daughter, Linda Dernell and husband Danny Hill of Edward, Miss.; one son; his brother, Jimmy Dale Greenhaw of Angleton; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mitch Geisel officiating.

Interment will follow Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 1:15 p.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
