Offer condolences


Louis R. Muñoz, a resident of Floresville, Texas, entered eternal rest Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at 11:40 a.m. in the Mission Trail Baptist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 59 years, 6 months, and 15 days. Louis was born July 7, 1953, in Floresville, the son of Louis P. and Dora Ramirez Muñoz.

He graduated from Floresville High School, and worked with Alamo Iron Works and Auto Zone for many years. Louis resided in San Antonio for many years before moving back to Floresville in 1992. Louis served in the U.S. Army Reserve, and was a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis P. Muñoz.

Louis is survived by his mother, Dora Ramirez Muñoz; his siblings, Mike R. Muñoz and wife Rosie and Adelia M. Cantu and husband Ralph, all of San Antonio, and Irene M. Carranza and husband Ruben of Adkins; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, officiated by the Rev. Gregory Sawicki.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Tony Cervantes, Jesse Martinez, Mike Cantu, Juan Ortiz, Ralph Cantu, and Richard Castillo.
