Help Wanted

CASA VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, FULL-TIME POSITION. Provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers to ensure that abused children’s best interests are represented in court. Social services experience required.  Responsible for assisting with recruiting and initial training of advocates, and coordinating cases in Wilson County and Karnes County with Atascosa County (home office). Must demonstrate written and presentation communication skills. Must be available to work intermittent evenings/weekends with some travel.  Must have personal car, current TDL, and auto liability insurance. Santiago “Blonde” Silva Trinidad Jr. passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 72 years and 3 months. He was born Oct. 20, 1940, in Floresville, the son of Lucinda Silva and Santiago Trinidad Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Floresville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Juan Trinidad; and his sister, Aurora Trinidad Posada.

Santiago is survived by his wife, Oralia Martinez Trinidad of Floresville; his sons, Domingo Trinidad Sr. and Dionisio “Nicho” Trinidad, both of Floresville; his sisters, Oralia T. Martinez of Lubbock, Florencia T. Martinez of Kerrville, Irene T. Lucio of Floresville, and Mary Ann T. Garcia of Denver City; and his brothers, Miguel Trinidad of Denver City, David Trinidad of Seagraves, Baldemar Trinidad of Floresville, and Leandro Trinidad of Denver City. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Inez Clarice Trinidad, Domingo Trinidad Jr., Tiffany Trinidad, and Dominick Montoya Trinidad; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 5 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville; and Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 8 a.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A rosary was recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the church.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the church.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Eddie Trinidad, Leandro Trinidad Jr., Rocky Trinidad, David Trinidad Jr., Larry Lucio, Guadalupe Martinez Jr., Freddie Martinez, and Armando Martinez Sr.
