FORT WORTH -- The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Foundation will award scholarships in the amount of $2,000 per year to students interested in pursuing a degree within the field of agriculture.

High school seniors and students currently enrolled at an accredited university in Texas or Oklahoma are eligible to apply.

Students from a family involved in the ranching or farming industry can also apply for the Mary and Leonard Stiles Scholarship. This $5,250 scholarship is a one-year award for a graduating high school senior with financial need. Recipients may apply for the scholarship for a total of four years as long as requirements of the scholarship are met.

Applications for both scholarships are due Thursday, Jan. 31, and may be found at cattleraisersmuseum.org. Applicants can also contact ksmith@cowgirl.net for an application.

Scholarships will be awarded in March 2013, and recipients will be recognized during the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers annual convention in Fort Worth.
