Poth High School Band students (from left) Cordell Jarzombek, Dorian Buitron, Kailyn De Hoyos, Daniel Soto, and Brandon Darr were selected to perform Dec. 3 with the Association of Texas Small School Bands All Region Band at Canyon Lake auditorium. The tryouts were held Nov. 26 at Navarro High School. This was Brandon's fifth consecutive year to make ATSSB band. It was Dorian's fourth year and Daniel's third year. (Inset) Cordell Jarzombek and Brandon Darr advanced to area competition in Symphonic Band Jan. 12 at Orange Grove High School. This was the first time in six years that Poth students participated in the area competition.

These students earned chairs at regionals:
•Cordell Jarzombek, third chair tuba, first band, symphonic band
•Dorian Buitron, ninth chair clarinet, second band, concert band
•Kailyn De Hoyos, 11th chair clarinet, second band, concert band
•Daniel Soto, first chair flute, second band, concert band
•Brandon Darr, third chair French horn, first band, symphonic band
