Rocketry team wins five trophies

Floresville High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC model rocketry team (back, from left) Stephanie Bauer, David Maida, Spurgeon Garrett, Sebastian Rodriguez, Michael Collins, (front) Alec Edmondson, Jonathan Gaudlitz, Lane Mohedano (team commander), Cody Delarm, and Morgan Sosenka show off the five trophies they won at the Antler Rocket Classic hosted by the Kerrville Tivy High School Air Force JROTC corps of cadets. Model rocket teams from the San Antonio and Austin areas participated at the Jan. 19 event.

In addition, the Alamo Rocket Club performed demo model rocket launches at the end of the competition. Floresville received the third-place overall championship trophy plus first place for streamer 70-yard spot landing; second place for parachute duration; third place for streamer 35-yard spot landing; and third place for parachute 70-yard spot landing.
